220k+ miles on a 2012? Wow. Someone has done some serious driving. Though, the VIN doesn't seem entered correctly. Still, if it's legit, I guess that car can be considered pretty reliable.

Damn. That's a LOT of miles for a 2012. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see someone try and buy that from the original seller and roll back the odometer to sell it again.

I feel like this person is some badass Hyundai nomad.

I would hope they wouldn't do that. If it were me, I'd wear those miles as a badge of honor. A vehicle driven that many miles in that short of time has easily proven its worth. No way I would hide that.

Well, it is a TOURING edition. I feel like the owner took that as a challenge, and do as much touring as possible.

While I wholeheartedly agree, I think that there are a lot of unscrupulous individuals out there.

Yep, VIN is wrong.

Those are some serious miles. I'm going to assume those miles were work related, because who drives that much for leisure? To put it in perspective...

That car is, at oldest, 3 1/2 years old- July of 2011 would've been around the earliest one could've possibly bought a 2012 Elantra.

There are 1,277.5 days in 3 1/2 years, so we'll call it 1278 days.

There are 52 weeks in a year with two weekend days each, so 52*2*3.5= 364 days the car wouldn't be used for work during that time, not including holidays. Let's say the driver took only the bare minimum off, so that's Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. That'd be another 12 days the car wouldn't be used for work, so 352 days.

1278 - 352 = 926 working days in 3 1/2 years.

225,000 / 926 = 243 miles per day, every day, minimum.

If the car is newer than July of 2011 that number just goes up.

That's a lotta miles.

Honestly, rolling back the odometer is a great idea for making a quick unethical buck. Have you ever fancied a job in the underworld, Stapleface? Your name certainly seems to indicate so ;p.

That IS a lot, especially looking at it that way. The most I've driven was with my previous car, a '98 Cutlass. Within three months, I had put 10k miles on it, and I think I totalled another 15k over the next six months following that I owned it. Still, even driving that much, it would have taken me somewhere like 9 years to reach the same point this person did.

I really hope that's not a typo. And I really, really want to know the story of how the mileage got that high if it is correct.

And if we assume an average speed of 60mph, that's 4 hours of driving each day.

If it's only got 22k miles that price is a steal.

That's true I didn't think about the price. It is just so hard to believe that someone could drive that much in two years! But I suppose if they were commuting like DC to Chicago every day, that would add up.

They were probably a professional courier or over the road salesman or possibly hauled cardo you can't put on a truck. The most impressive total I ever saw was an 08 Crown vic that at time was 5 years old. As per the ad, it was a cop car, then it was a taxi. It had 591,000 kms or 367,000 miles on it. 108 miles per day since new (assuming new Jan 1 2008).
